About this film or conversation

The Reality of the Rulers, also known as The Hypostasis of the Archons, is an ancient Gnostic text preserved in Nag Hammadi Codex II, discovered in Egypt in 1945. Associated with Sethian Gnostic traditions, the text offers a radical reinterpretation of the biblical creation story, describing a world governed by ignorant cosmic authorities known as the Archons.

Drawing upon the Book of Genesis and early Christian cosmology, the narrative challenges the authority of the creator of the material world. Its chief ruler, called Samael, declares himself the only God, unaware of the greater divine reality that exists beyond his domain. Through the stories of Adam, Eve, the serpent, and Norea, the text presents an alternative account of humanity's origins and its relationship to the powers governing the material cosmos.

In this installment of *ARCANA GNOSTICA* we enter the world of The Reality of the Rulers and explore its extraordinary vision of creation, the Archons, the divine feminine, and the struggle between spiritual knowledge and the forces of ignorance.

The text describes the origins of the cosmic rulers, the influence of Pistis Sophia, and the intervention of the angel Eleleth, who reveals the true nature of the powers that seek to control humanity. At its heart lies a distinctly Gnostic understanding of existence: the rulers of the material world possess only limited authority, while humanity's spiritual origin belongs to a higher, incorruptible reality.
